At Veterans Place of Washington Boulevard, we believe no veteran should have to face life’s challenges alone. Every day, we work to ensure that veterans in the Pittsburgh region have access to the resources, support, and respect they deserve as they transition from homelessness or instability toward independence and long-term stability.
But we can’t do it alone.
Why Partnerships Matter for Our Veterans
Community partners are the foundation of everything we do. From transitional housing and workforce programs to access to food, clothing, and transportation, the services we offer are made stronger—and often possible—through collaboration.
By working together with organizations, agencies, and supporters, we’re able to:
- Address a wide range of veteran needs through wraparound care
- Expand access to essential services and daily necessities
- Provide targeted support for veterans navigating challenges like unemployment or housing insecurity
- Build a more connected support system across Pittsburgh and the surrounding region
Whether it’s financial support, volunteer involvement, or service coordination, our partners help us reach more veterans and offer care that makes a meaningful difference.
What Veterans Place Does
Veterans Place is a nonprofit organization serving veterans who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Located on Washington Boulevard in Pittsburgh, our campus offers a safe and supportive space for veterans to stabilize and move forward.
Our core programs include:
- Transitional Housing and Bridge Housing for veterans experiencing housing instability
- Workforce Development and Employment Services to support job readiness and long-term employment
- The Veterans Resource Center serves as a daily drop-in hub where veterans can access meals, showers, laundry, transportation assistance, case management, peer support, and essential supplies.
- Wellness Center is a recently added program where we are partnering with Allegheny Health Network to provide medical services to veterans not eligible for VA Healthcare benefits.
Through these services and more, we aim to empower veterans to take the next steps in their lives with support, dignity, and confidence.
