Veterans Place HVRP Team attended the 2nd annual ACAR Reentry Summit, held on April 26th, 2024, at the Community College of Allegheny County – Allegheny Campus. This event was a significant opportunity to engage in critical discussions and collaborations focused on supporting reentry and addressing unmet needs within our community, especially for previously incarcerated individuals.
The Allegheny County Anchored Reentry (ACAR) Coalition, under which this summit was organized, aims to foster dialogue and coordination among various collaborators to better serve those returning from correctional facilities. Through aligning resources and best practices, ACAR focuses on essential areas such as housing, employment, education/training, self-empowerment, family support, health and wellness, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, and finance management.
Veterans Place actively participated by contributing our expertise in employment opportunities for Veterans seeking reentry into the workforce. Our commitment to providing pathways for skills development and sustainable careers aligns perfectly with ACAR’s objectives of improving lives and communities through comprehensive support services.
