Thanksgiving is a time where we gather with family to enjoy a delicious meal, but more importantly, it is also a time to reflect on what we are most thankful for. At Veterans Place of Washington Boulevard, we are thankful for our veterans and the freedom we have because of their sacrifices.
We spoke with some of our veterans and asked them what they are thankful for:
“I am thankful this is a safe place for me to come to get help with all my needs: food, transportation, housing. The exceptionally nice way the staff treats me.” -Veteran Ron Cheatham, U.S.A.F.
“I am thankful for the Lord’s blessings.” -Veterans Place helpful attitude, my health, and my friends.” -Veteran Robert Sweazen, Navy.
We are thankful for our community of supporters because you are the ones who make it all possible. Your generous donations help us find life-sustaining programs, housing, education, and events for our veterans to help transition them out of homelessness and lead self-sufficient lives.
As you reflect on what you are thankful for this holiday, take the time to reflect on the freedoms we enjoy each day because of our veterans. They have made many sacrifices to preserve our freedoms. The holiday season is a great time to show them how grateful we are for their service by donating to support the programs they rely on.
Your donation will directly help a veteran in need and will help us further our mission of ending veteran homelessness in the region. Please visit our Donate page to donate.
Veterans Place of Washington Boulevard would like to wish you and your family a safe and happy Thanksgiving!
