At Veterans Place of Washington Boulevard, we think it is important to recognize our Veterans and celebrate their successes! Every month, we choose a Veteran who has demonstrated hard work and determination to meet their goals. We are excited to announce the Employment Program Veteran of the Month for January, Tyrone P.! We congratulate Tyrone for his hard work and are excited to see what the future holds for him.
Tyrone is an Army Veteran who defended our country honorably across the Middle East, receiving multiple campaign badges throughout his service. Tyrone used his service time to further his education by earning a wide variety of certificates.
He continued to further his education after his time in the serve earning several degrees from Ashford University, carrying on with his pursuit of service working with at-risk youth as a civilian.
Tyrone, who was having difficulty finding a job that served his passions, met Veterans Place Employment Program through a Job Fair. He worked with Employment Specialist, Earl Lamar, who was able to help him obtain a career that can help achieve his professional and personal goals. Veterans Place is honored to serve this distinguished Veteran, and we are truly proud of the service he provided and continues to provide to this country.

Helping our Veterans find gainful employment is a major part of helping them transition out of homelessness.
