Veterans Place will be partnering with the Acrisure Stadium Kickoff & Rib Fest for a weekend of events with a table at the Rib Fest Friday and Saturday, culminating in the Annual Cornhole Classic. Throughout the weekend, they will be selling raffle tickets at the table to be drawn at the tournament on Sunday.
“The Annual Cornhole Classic is such an important event for Veterans Place. Every night, approximately 49,000 veterans experience homelessness. Veterans Place is able to serve over 800 homeless veterans each year through programs that provide life-saving support with transitional housing, access to a food pantry, addiction response, and much more,” said Robert Hamilton, Executive Director of Veterans Place.
The Cornhole Classic is free for spectators, includes access to the Rib Fest, and will have prizes for the Social and Advanced tournaments. There will be raffles for Steelers memorabilia, game tickets, and other exciting prizes!
Social Tournament registration is $75 per team, and the Advanced Tournament registration is $100 per team, with only one Pro Player allowed per team. Registration begins at 11 AM, and the tournament starts at 12 PM.
“Yearly, the Annual Cornhole Classic has helped us to raise over $50,000 to help support our veterans, and by partnering with the Acrisure Stadium Kickoff & Rib Fest, we are excited to bring Veterans Place’s biggest event to Pittsburgh’s biggest stage. This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to play our region’s favorite backyard game in the same place we watch our favorite team play football- and take an active role in ending the cycle of homelessness in our veterans at the same time,” said Hamilton.
